Cougar Photo Shoot 6

I like this photo! It displays the regal demeanor cats seem so famous for. One one hand, it looks like a photo of Tabby the house cat; on the other, you realize this is a cougar, one of the big cats -- feral, powerful, beautiful, utterly dangerous. The expression on the cougar's face contains a look of interest, coupled with indifference -- pure cat! I also like the slightly out of focus background, highlighting the subject in the foreground in sharp relief. Only two small things would make this study perfect -- a more rugged backdrop without dressed stone and the cougar's tail in the frame -- neither the fault of the photographer. Last, I'm a fan of "full body" shots that show the complete animal. This study does that superbly. All in all, a worthy effort!
